Trees Of Life - 2nd Place, Annual Theme Portfolio Competition - Photo Story (reportage) BSoUP '15

2nd Place - Annual Theme Portfolio Competition - Photo Story (reportage)

"Abstract and reportage photographs combine to tell the story of a coral regeneration project. A strong example of visual story telling with a clear narrative linking the images."

This was my opening image, which is of man-made 'trees' covered in small coral fragments. The trees move with the ebb and flow of ocean currents, creating natural movement which encourages fresh nutrients to wash over the nursery. The little fragments grow fast and furious before being transplanted when they're big enough to survive in a reef environment. It's a fabulous project and one that really captured my interest.
